CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT: This program has been described as the fastest growing job in the US, after successful completion of NJDHSS-approved Nurse Aide in Long-Term Care Facilities Course, the nurse aide candidate will be ready to take the New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services Nurse Aide licensing examination which consists of skills evaluation and a written examination.

The Nurse Aide in Long-Term Care Facilities Course is offered based on the belief that all residents in long-term care facilities are entitled to receive an optimum level of health and personal care services. The purposes of the Nurse Aide in Long-Term Care Facilities Course are to provide the caregiver with basic nurse aide knowledge and skills to care for residents and to prepare him/her to assume the responsibilities of a caring trained caregiver in a long-term care facility.
And also to master Procedures in providing good nursing care to meet the physical, spiritual, recreational and psychosocial needs of the residents, and these will be learned with due respect to resident’ rights to privacy, dignity and independence and to promote resident’s safety with strict adherence to the practice of standard precautions to prevent disease transmission.
Conversion from CNA to CHHA
Once you are a CNA and want to become a CHHA, you can take a conversion class of 10 hours to get your CHHA The 10 hours module consist of the following items:
Classroom lecture and Final CHHA Exam Skills training and skill competency test
The Fee for the 10-hour program includes:
Registration fee
Payment for the Final CHHA Exam
An additional $80 money order is required to pay for the certification application with the NJ Board of Nursing
Online Home Health Aide Program
Lapsed License and Graduated more than 5years
A nurse aide who was initially certified in New Jersey more than 5 years ago and whose certificate has lapsed. Must successfully complete the Nurse Aide in Long-Term Care Facilities Training and Competency Evaluation Program (Course, skills, and written or oral exam).
Lapsed License and Graduated less than 5years
A nurse aide who was initially certified in New Jersey less than 5 years ago and whose certificate has lapsed. Must successfully complete the skills evaluation and the written or oral examination. If the skills or the written (or oral) exam is failed, the candidate must retrain and retest under eligibility Lapsed and Graduated more than 5years. (see above)
